Last week, the BrightPlan team had a great time attending the conference and hosting a booth at UNLEASH America 2024, The International Festival of HR. During the conference, the BrightPlan team was able to have many great conversations and attend thought leadership sessions.
A key topic of conversation was the results of the 2024 Wellness Barometer Survey, and many leaders are focused on understanding the current disconnect between employers and employees when it comes to financial resources and benefits. While 92% of leaders say their company offers employees the financial guidance, support, and tools they need to achieve their life goals, compared to just 56% of employees who feel their company provides this support.1 Additionally, 78% of leaders say their company’s financial wellness benefits have improved, compared to just 35% of employees — a 43 percentage point difference.2
In addition to great conversations and connections, other conference highlights included:

- A panel on “Fostering Diversity in a Climate of Reduced Funding and Attention” with Michael H. Schneider, FBI, Chief Human Capital Officer and Assistant Director
- An interactive keynote from leadership expert Kirsten Ferguson, “Modern Leadership in HR: How to Lead with the Head and Heart”
Our team enjoyed attending the sessions “HR Transformation,” a panel discussion with Baker Hughes and Autodesk, as well as a keynote and panel discussion around AI’s impact on HR leadership and how HR can use AI to achieve organizational goals. The use of AI requires, and will continue to require, leaders who are willing to be curious and take risks, as well as tackling the learning curve and helping their people to demystify new technologies. Speakers also noted that HR is a catalyst that will continually change the best way to have the workforce align to move forward in the company and with customers.
